|!| Driving for Life |!|

Hello,

I'm posting here because there is a Jack Russell Terrier that really needs your help this weekend.  Memphis is a young adult who has been through more than he knows.  He's almost made the euthanization list at his high kill shelter three times since being dumped by his family, but one determined rescuer kept working until we've finally got a rescue to commit to him.  Not many would spend so much time on a heartworm positive dog, but now he has a chance.  Can you help us move him from the shelter in Tennessee to his rescue in South Carolina?  On his way to rescue he will be passing through Memphis, Jackson, Hurricane Mills, Nashville, Manchester, and Chattanooga, TN!

More details here:

(Please feel free to comment here or there with any questions you may have)
(Please cross post)

Please take a look at the link above and see if you can help.  All it takes is a couple hours out of your day and some gas to drive from one city to the next.

Thank you
- Saigh

There are maybe 120 possibly 150 animals from a horrible situation needing help. They are currently in the very over filled Hamilton County Humane Educational Society. These are links to the story and the last one will take you to a summary of the story and a link to the Hamilton County Humane Educational Society webpage and a phone number to call.

|!| GSD Needs Transport Help... |!|

Hello,

Attention all animal lovers in Knoxville and Chattanooga, Tennessee:

I'm posting here because we've got a german shepherd that needs help getting to his adoptive home.  Zeus was rescued from death row by a common name in the transport world, and now needs help getting her new family member to her.  Peggy hopes to have Zeus with her for Easter.  Is there anyone out there with an open weekend willing to help?

Details can be found here:

Thank you for your time and attention.  Feel free to crosspost; I did.

HI!

I see this is a new community and I really hope that it picks up.....I'm Samantha, I'm 19, and I got to UTC. I love animals to the point that it's kind of ridiculous. I would be a Vet or something but I get too upset when animals are hurt. I'm such a baby.
^_^
I have two dogs, Rascal and Daisy. Rascal is a five pound, tan, chihuahua who was originally for my brother(hence the name), but he likes me more...so he decided I was his Mommy. Daisy is a tan and white(with a few small black spots) basset-beagle mix. She is technically my boyfriends...but she's mine too! I got her through my vets office when I told them I was looking for a basset for my boyfriend. She's such a cheese. Then there is my lovely kitty Juggernaut. He's long and gray...I don't really know much else because I got him from a lady giving kittens away at the park. He recently had some sort of accident and we had to take him to the emergency animal clinic on amincola. Luckily he's doing much better...but he's on two eye drops and amoxidrops. :(. We have to go back to the doctor again friday to see if he can begin steroids for his eye. I really hope that we can take care of it. I feel terrible.

I can't get my pictures to work right now...but I promise there will be soon! There are a few posted on my journal...feel free to check them out!

welcome to chattanoogapets

for the first post, i shall introduce myself and one of my darling pets to you. when you guys join and post, tell us a little about yourself and your pets! this place is pretty much for anyone in the chattanooga area. i'd like for you to post pictures of your darlings. if you need a free image host, try photobucket.com, it's kind of easy. if you have any suggestions as to free image hosts, let me know. also, if you have any questions post them, maybe someone will know the answer. i know that i will do my best to answer any questions i can. if i don't know, i will ask every doctor and technician i know! have fun ^_^

i guess i'll start out with introductions of sorts. my name is kim, or you could call me kimmie. either way, i'll answer. i work at shallowford animal hospital, have been there since july of 2003. i live in ringgold and have four pets. two english bulldogs, creeper and dozer. two domestic short haired kitties, maxie and gizmo. all four with completely different and distinct personalities! they're nuts, as am i, i suppose. anyway, the first pic to start out the community is of my darling gizmo, who i sometimes call the tard, with love of course. he's just a bit inbred, but my sweetest cat nonetheless. he's done so much to hurt himself, i just count myself lucky that i get a discount at work! as i said, he's a bit of a tard, but very lovable and sweet. anyway, he's laying out on our porch, really cute.
